CITY OF STAMFORD CITIZEN OF THE YEAR

He was an attorney in Stamford for almost fifty years at the law firm of Durey and Pierson and former President of the Stamford Bar Association. He was a pilot and captain of the 90th Aero Squadron in World War I. He graduated from Princeton in 1911 and from Harvard Law School in 1914.

 

Norris E. Pierson won the Citizen of the Year Award for his exemplary contribution to the community through his work on the Board of Education, Board of Finance, and trusteeship for the YMCA, Ferguson Library and the Family and Children’s Center. Through his involvement he tried to make life in Stamford better and was active in the Boy Scouts of America and the Darien Chapter of the Red Cross.
