Polly O'Brien

1999

Polly O’Brien is a Stamford native. She attended Our Lady Star of the Sea and Stamford Catholic High School (now Trinity High School). She earned degrees from Wells College and an MBA in Finance from the University of Connecticut. She resides in Stamford with her husband, Bob Morrow. The couple has two daughters.

 

Polly O’Brien was awarded Stamford Citizen of the Year in 1999 for leadership work in numerous community endeavors. She was also awarded the Ambassador of Service to Humanity from Catholic Family Services in 1999. Through her work as Director of Community Affairs for Pitney Bowes, Inc. she demonstrated a commitment to community outreach and volunteerism as well as her leadership in a number of nonprofit organizations. She served as vice-chairman of the Points of Light Foundation’s National Council on Workplace Volunteerism. The initiative promotes volunteerism in the corporate ranks. Ms. O’Brien has also been chairman of the board of the Volunteer Center of Southwestern Fairfield County. In addition, she is a member of the Junior League of Stamford. She helped to clean up Stamford’s South End through her work with the South End Neighborhood Revitalization Zone. As a result it earned national recognition as a Make A Difference Day Award.
