Rev. Lloyd F. Worley

1948

Rev. Worley’s father was Christian missionary to China. He was a descendent of English Quakers who came to America with William Penn. His mother descended from the Pennsylvania Dutch of pre-revolutionary days. Rev. Worley was interested in the Orient serving as a trustee of the United Board of Christian Colleges in China. He advocated for aid to the Chinese Nationalists who later settled on Taiwan.

Reverend Lloyd Worley received his award for his contribution to brotherhood in Stamford. He was the spiritual leader of the First Methodist Church, a member of the Stamford Community Chest, Budget Committee; chairman of Social Work Council, board member of Family and Children’s Center, a volunteer aid at Stamford Hospital and chairman of the Inter-racial Committee of the Community. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club
