Norman T. Woodberry

Mr. Woodbury was an analytical chemist who graduated from Brown University in 1939. He worked for American Cyanamid from 1939 until retirement in 1983. He also received the Stamford Advocate “Community Leader of the Year” and the Lower Fairfield County Church and Synagogue “50h Anniversary Award” for interfaith dialogue and community service. He served in leadership posts in a numerous community organizations including the CROP Walk Project, the Fairfield 2000 Human Services Committee, the Family and Children Services Board, Coordinator of the Festival of Nations, Vice-Chairman of the Forum for World Affairs, NAACP, Chairman of Person to Person, president of the Dolan Parent/Teachers Student Association, Stamford President of the National Conference of Christians and Jews, president of the Pilgrim Towers, member of the Stamford community Council Board and Committee on Aging, president of the Stamford Parent-Teacher Association, member of the planning division of the United Way and president of the Yerwood Center.
Norman T. Woodbury was active in Amnesty International as Group 13 Chairman; and the Coalition of Human Rights, Chairman. He was honored with the Stamford Citizen of the Year for his strong belief in interfaith harmony and working on projects benefiting the general welfare.
