Jane M. Judd

Mrs. Judd was born and raised in New Haven. She moved to Stamford in 1960 with her husband and family and joined the First Presbyterian Church. She became active in the Davenport Ridge School PTO, the Stamford Jr. Woman’s Club and the Girl Scouts as a Brownie Leader.
“The Selection Committee’s choice [of Charles and Jane Judd] was based upon the extensive activities of the Judds, whose 30 years of community involvement and service fulfilled the requirements of this criteria.” Mrs. Judd was an active volunteer and community leader. She helped to establish Hospice Care, Inc. a program of care for terminally ill patients and their families. She served as its founding president. She also co-chaired a capital campaign for a hospice residence. In addition, She was a member of the Friends of the Ferguson Library Board, Meals on Wheels, volunteer for the American Cancer Society. The Advocate cited Mrs. Judd its Community Leader of the Year in 1982 and the Council of Churches and Synagogues honored her as the Lay Person of the Year in 1985
