James Caterbone

U.S.Army

2010

Earlier this year, Jim Caterbone became a member of the Stamford Board of Representatives. This is only the latest of a never-ending series of community-oriented activities in which Jim has engaged since his discharge from the Army in the mid ‘60s. Since his service in the 102nd Regiment of the 43rdInfantry Division, he has literally dedicated himself to “doing things for people.”

Jim was the founder and president of the Stamford Youth Hockey Association, president of Springdale Little League and assistant district administrator for Little League Baseball in the State of Connecticut. He also has been chairman of the World Games Special Olympics in Stamford, a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and president of the Old Timers Athletic Association. And get this: Jim is a licensed airplane pilot with instrument rating. Wow! Makes you wonder what he does in his spare time.

Jim Caterbone and his wife Marge, Springdale residents, will soon be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They have two children and two grandchildren. Our committee proudly selected him as a classic example of the “citizen soldier” who returns from the service to make a difference in the lives of his friends and neighbors.
